Safety & Child Safety Standards

1. Our Safety Commitment

Companion is an adult-only platform designed for people aged 18 and over, with a focus on users 40+. We are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful environment free from exploitation, abuse, and harmful content — particularly any content that endangers or sexualises minors.

These standards apply to all users, all content, and all interactions on the platform. Violations are taken seriously and may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.

2. Child Safety Policy

Age Requirements

• Users must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use Companion.
• We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
• If we discover that a user is under 18, their account will be immediately terminated and their data deleted.
• We reserve the right to request age verification at any time.

Prohibited Content Involving Minors

The following content is strictly prohibited and will never be tolerated:

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
• Sexual or romantic content involving anyone under 18
• Any content that solicits, grooms, or attempts to exploit minors
• Photos or videos featuring minors in a profile context
• Any communication intended to facilitate contact with a minor for harmful purposes

3. Content Standards

All users must comply with these content standards:

Prohibited Content

• Sexually explicit or pornographic images
• Non-consensual intimate images (NCII)
• Hate speech, racial slurs, or discriminatory content
• Threats of violence or content that incites harm
• Harassment, stalking, or targeted abuse
• Impersonation of real people or use of fake identities
• Spam, scam content, or fraudulent solicitation
• Content promoting illegal activity

Profile Standards

• Profile photos must clearly show your own face
• No nudity or sexually suggestive images in profile photos
• Bios and display names must not contain offensive or prohibited content

4. Reporting Violations

We provide multiple ways to report safety concerns. We take all reports seriously and investigate promptly.

In-App Reporting

• To report a user: open their chat, tap the menu (⋮), and select Report.
• To block a user: open their chat, tap the menu (⋮), and select Block. Blocked users cannot see your profile or message you.

5. Moderation & Enforcement

How We Handle Reports

• All reports are reviewed by our safety team, typically within 48 hours.
• Child safety reports and threats of imminent harm are treated as highest priority.
• Where a violation is confirmed, we will take one or more of the following actions: content removal, account warning, account suspension, or permanent ban.
• We may report users to law enforcement and relevant authorities where required by law or where there is a credible risk of harm.

Appeals

If you believe your account was actioned in error, you may appeal by contacting support@companionsocial.online with the subject line Account Appeal. We review all appeals and aim to respond within 5 business days.

6. Law Enforcement Requests

Law enforcement agencies seeking user data or assistance with an investigation should contact us at support@companionsocial.online. We cooperate with lawful requests in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
